WATERFORD, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Waterford man faces felony charges for allegedly defrauding Saratoga County.

Jason L. Wellington, 48, was arrested Thursday, February 12 and charged with two counts of Third Degree Grand Larceny, as well as 11 counts of First Degree Offering a False Instrument for filing, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says.
Authorities accuse Wellington of billing the county for childcare services he did not provide in 2025, stealing over $3,000 on two occasions.
The investigation was a joint effort by the Sheriff’s Office and the Special Investigations Unit of the Saratoga County Department of Social Services.
Wellington was arraigned in Ballston Spa Village Court and released.
