The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) warns the public to exercise caution when conducting financial services business with TPG Joburg Nexus and persons purporting to be associated with Dr Duarte da Silva (Dr da Silva) and TPG Capital (an American private equity firm based in Fort Worth, Texas).
It has come to the attention of the FSCA that TPG Joburg Nexus is using the name of TPG Capital and Dr da Silva to promote investments. Dr da Silva’s name is reflected in WhatsApp communication with members of the public from whom investments are solicited. TPG Capital and Dr da Silva confirmed that they are not associated with TPG Joburg Nexus.
While the FSCA does not comment on the specifics of TPG Joburg Nexus’ business, it must be noted that TPG Joburg Nexus is not authorised by the FSCA to provide financial services to members of the public. The FSCA was unable to reach TPG Joburg Nexus on the contact details provided to it.
