The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) warns the public to exercise caution when conducting financial services business with an individual(s) using the name Mr Fernando Bustamante (Mr Bustamante) and purporting to be associated with JME Financial Services (Pty) Ltd (JME Financial) t/a ZA.Capex.com, FSP number 37166 and Key Way Investments Limited (Key Way Investments), FSP number 29039.
It has come to the FSCA’s attention that Mr Bustamante is operating under the name “Capex.com” and falsely claiming an association with ZA.Capex.com and Key Way Investments to solicit funds from members of the public, purportedly for the recovery of their investments. JME Financial and Key Way Investments have confirmed that they have no association with Mr Bustamante or “Capex.com” and that his activities are neither authorised nor endorsed by them.
It was also brought to the attention of the FSCA that Mr Bustamante is distributing documents bearing the FSCA’s logo, wherein he offers to assist individuals in recovering funds owed to them for a fee. The FSCA confirms that Mr Bustamante is not employed or associated with it.
While the FSCA does not comment on the specific business model or services offered by Mr Bustamante and “Capex.com”, it is important to note neither part is authorised under any financial sector law to provide financial services to the public. Mr Bustamante and “Capex.com” failed to respond to FSCA queries.
