Barron County (Press Release) – The Barron County Sheriff’s
Department has received calls from both banks stating their customers and from
citizens from all over the county stating they are receiving calls by an
automated system asking them to reactivate their debit card.
This is a
phishing scam trying to get information on the person’s debit card. You
are being asked “to reactivate your debit card for shopping and ATM usage,
please call our security department or press 1 now and you will be transferred
to our security department.” DO NOT PRESS 1
At this time we do not have
any victims that have suffered any loss.
