Five people are facing charges relating to Medicare fraud in Cole County. All five are scheduled for initial appearances 9 a.m. July 14 in the Cole County Circuit Court, according to online court records.
The suspects are all charged with stealing $750 or more and at least one charge of violations involving healthcare payments.
Romond Holt of Kansas City was charged with violations involving healthcare payments and stealing $750 or more, both of which are felonies. The crimes allegedly occurred in 2023.
While employed as an in-home personal care attendant through a Medicaid vendor, Holt allegedly submitted false statements and time records so he could receive Medicaid payments for services he did not provide to the recipient, according to the probable cause statement.
