BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Vice President J.D. Vance visited Bangor Thursday to discuss what he says are widespread fraud issues in Maine.
President Donald Trump tapped Vance earlier this year to lead a task force to eliminate fraud. Vance spoke at Bangor International Airport about how the administration is protecting taxpayer dollars.
Republicans from across the state gathered for the event. Speakers before Vance’s arrival included Penobscot County Sheriff Troy Morton and former Gov. Paul LePage.
“J.D. Vance being here today is a warning shot to every fraudster, scam artist, and corrupt bureaucrats protecting our broken system. It’s time to squash it,” said LePage, a Republican candidate for U.S. House.
