Email Fraud Alert received from: Amanda
Stokvelsa – I am concerned that they could be defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
The full contents of the suspected fraudulent (phishing / scamming) e-mail appear below:
The is a active site called StokvelSA that I invested R80000 in February 2015. They promised 2% daily returns with interest payments to be made weekly over a 90 days cycle.
With my experience they failed to make the weekly payment of the interest and almost two years later I have not received the money I invested. Please investigate these people as I understand that they are still recruiting more investors.
The above email was sent by “Amanda Mawisa” .
I, Amanda, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent business:
The man behind this is Xolani Mkhumathela and they has offices in Observatory, Cape Town. You can also call this man on this number 0742537888 to get directions of their offices
We cross checked the claim above and saw these comments on HelloPeter:

They have promised that you can request biweekly but now they are coming with excuses that we wil get the money in JUne or July. The socalled CEO/Manager Xolani said I will get the money friday if it is not more than R1500. 00. I am not going to leave them if media has to be involved it will be. Hellopeter may you please check whether this people are legally registered.”
nicolaaskleynhans said; “Stokvel SA scam – I am experiencing the exact same problem, have been waiting for my money to be paid out since February 2016,and still the same old story that they are waiting for they’re investors to pay out. Gave them a call today and told me that I will receive payment in June now.I am tired of waiting but unfortunately I think I will have to kiss my money goodbye . Log in account no longer works or must have been removed , Cant get any statements. So please do not invest your money unless you want to wave it goodbye.”
jacob-letwala-mpe said; “It’s a Scam – This company is a scam they have been promising to payback my money since last year and now is may still nothing. They promised to make payments on the 13 May when i spoke to them for the second time in January as they claimed that they have lost money on investment. i don’t recommend people to join this company and in fact Nassa should investigate its credantials.”
StokvelSA says it’s beginnings were in Khayelitsha, Cape Town and that the company “has experienced a solid growth and currently has over 5000 membership of all groups of people nationally and including members from Lesotho and Swaziland.”
If the company has over 5000 members you would expect their offices at Unit C3, 5 Norfolk Road, Observatory, Cape Town, 7925 to at least have a SIGNBOARD and at best to be in a BETTER BUILDING.
StokvelSA CLAIM the following:
- You register for free, there is no registration fee.
- Your contribution for saving and investment begins from a minimum of R500.
- You earn up to 2% daily profit and you can withdraw your profit in every second week or every month.
- We keep your capital for 90 working days and you get it back with your available profit.
The REALLY WORRYING claim is the one of 2% daily profit – IN OTHER WORDS an investment of R500.00 that attracts a 2% daily profit will (APPARENTLY) turn into R2 913.30 at the end of the 90 days.
FarudAlert note that there is a Debt Collector named Sky Debt in the same complex as StokvelSA. Sky Debt’s address is given as Unit D4 Scalacasa Building, No 5 Norfolk Road, Observatory, Cape Town, 7925 – the jury is still out on whether you should ask Sky Debt to collect any money owed to you by StokvelSA!
