I recently received an email with this subject line: ESP 45 Trading Segways Monorover – Hover Boards Promotion and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
The full contents of the suspected fraudulent (phishing / scamming) e-mail appear below:
They are selling hover boards from R3200.00 each upwards, various colours and models.
The above email was sent by “Amanda De Souza” from this email address: esp45.trading@gmail.com
I, Collette, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent email message from “Amanda De Souza”:
ESP 45 Trading, this company has a website www.esptrading45.co.za they sell a variety of goods. They recently posted an add on OLX for hover boards, I sent them a request and Amanda got in contact with me and mailed me their price list. She promised to make a same day delivery as soon as the money had cleared through their bank account. We made the payment sent through proof of payment she messaged me that she was busy processing my order and that was the last I have heard from her. She does not respond to messages, emails or phone calls. They have since removed their add from OLX but I have read on a recent online scam report that they trade under various different company names. We offered to pay COD but Amanda declined as is was a security risk for them but she actually forgot to tell me by paying EFT it was a security risk to me. Due to this my child wont be getting a Christmas present this year as I am now broke, really breaks my heart.
