CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a Charleston County man with lottery fraud after investigators say he took a customer’s ticket and later redeemed it for $500.
SLED charged Deagan Chace Creel, 19, with intent to defraud/counterfeit game tickets, a warrant says.
What the warrant alleges
An arrest warrant affidavit says that on Feb. 17, 2026, Creel was working as a cashier at a Circle K on Folly Road in Charleston.
During a transaction, the affidavit says a customer bought three online lottery tickets, but Creel returned two and left one on the South Carolina Education Lottery terminal. After the customer left, the affidavit alleges Creel took the remaining ticket.
