A sting operation by the members of National Anti-Corruption Unit together with Free State Anti-Corruption and Crime Intelligence has led to the arrest of 38-year-old deputy chairperson of Motheo TVET College and his 35-year-old accomplice for corruption on Monday, 02 May 2017 in Bloemfontein.
The officers received an intelligence information that the duo demanded R1, 2 million from a CEO of Security Company for protection fee and to ensure that his security contract is not cancelled at Motheo TVET College in Bloemfontein. An entrapment was conducted after they made arrangements with the CEO to meet at lodge in Bloemfontein, the officers pounced and subsequently nabbed them after the exchange of the cash.
The duo will appear before Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court today, 03 May 2017 on charges of corruption.
