Email Fraud Alert received from: Tim
I recently received an email with this subject line: Online Service Message and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
Tim has the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent message:
Dear Twot
An IP address is made up of four bytes of information (totaling 32 bits) expressed as four numbers between 0 and 255 shown separated by periods. For example, your computer’s IP address might be 238.17.159.4, which is shown below in human-readable decimal form and in the binary form used on the Internet.
In other words moron, you cannot have an IP address with any number greater than 255 in it.
