Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced $3 million in Medicaid fraud charges against nine providers, including a Duluth man accused of a $2.2 million in fraud.

“This is a high dollar case, particularly where just one individual is involved. But as I’ve said many times, even $1 stolen from these programs is just too many,” said Ellison.
An 18-page criminal complaint details 11 felony theft and two felony identity-theft charges against 50-year-old Peter Jason Meilahn of Duluth. Officials allege he defrauded the Minnesota Medical Assistance Program, also known as Medicaid, out of more than $2.2 million since 2020.
