BATON ROUGE, La. (Gray Louisiana) – Louisiana will receive more than $557,000 from a $45 million multistate settlement with Block, Inc., the company behind Cash App, Attorney General Liz Murrill announced Wednesday.
The settlement resolves allegations that Block misled consumers about the safety of Cash App, failed to protect users from fraud on the platform and did not provide the fraud protection and dispute resolution it promised or was required to provide by law.
Louisiana will receive $557,086.81 from the settlement, according to Murrill’s office. Oregon and Texas led the investigation, securing relief for 46 participating states, including Louisiana.
