GAUTENG – The accused, Madinah Russel (49) and Kewarona Kole (34) appeared before Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 31 March 2026 for fraud.
A preliminary investigation conducted by ABSA Forensic Investigator discovered that Russel and Kole allegedly submitted fraudulent payslip when they apply for a motor vehicle finance at a car dealership in Cape Town. The application of a VW Golf 7 to the estimated value R541 000 was then approved. The incident took place during on 03 March 2020.
A case docket was registered and handed over to the Pretoria Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team. Both the accused were arrested on Tuesday, 31 March 2026 after handing themselves over to the Hawks investigating officer.
The case against Russel and Kole has been postponed 20 April 2026. They were each granted R1000 bail.
