OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Lawsuits over tens of millions of dollars between an Omaha healthcare provider and its investors has forced one company to file for bankruptcy.
Banyan Medical Systems with its headquarters at 87th and F Streets in Omaha filed for bankruptcy last week.
The company, founded 20 years ago, provides virtual nursing services and healthcare technology.
In court documents, Banyan Medical claims the alleged thefts by an employee and the “myriad of multimillion-dollar lawsuits” has crippled the company, saying “continued operations are no longer feasible.”
Earlier this year, details of the alleged fraud were reported where an out-of-state investment company said Banyan Medical Systems was diverting millions of dollars it was supposed to get from hospitals.
