Email Fraud Alert received from: SA Based Sceptic
I recently received an email with this subject line: UK based business man and investor and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
The full contents of the suspected fraudulent (phishing / scamming) e-mail appear below:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am contacting you in confidence and as a means of developing a cordial and
fruitful business relationship with you. My name is Mr. Ahmed Lloyd, a UK
based business man and investor. I am interested in investing in your
country South Africa through your good office.
I do invest on real estates, hotels and tourism centres but however, it
depends on your advice and suggestion since you are in better position for
directive as a South African citizen, also note that I am also interested in
investing in your own business if you have any or an idea and if the margin
is good. I have decided to budget the sum amount of money for this
investment plan.
In other for us to proceed with this business investment relationship, I
will like you to send me an email signifying your interest and any business
ideas you have or feel I can invest in. Your address got to me courtesy of a
business journal at the world trade centre here in the United Kingdom and
after due consideration I decided to contact you with the hope that you will
be able to render assistance towards this investment plan.
More details and my full information will be given to you once I receive
your response.
