Two Rochester men face a criminal charge following a forgery investigation in Ontario, according to New York State Police.
State police said they received a complaint Jan. 8 that a personal check was stolen, altered to be made payable to another person and deposited at an ATM in Monroe County.
Investigators reviewed bank records and surveillance footage and identified the suspects as Shelden Stevens, 38, and Cori Buckman Jr., 25, police said.
Both Stevens and Buckman were arrested Tuesday with assistance from the Brighton Police Department, according to state police. They’re charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Stevens and Buckman were taken to Monroe County Jail for arraignment in CAP court.
