MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – The owner of a Moorhead restaurant faces 24 felony counts after state investigators say she hid hundreds of thousands of dollars in income from tax authorities, all while collecting public food assistance benefits.
Christine Conrad, owner of Reese & Riley’s Olive Oil and Bistro Bar, is charged with filing false tax returns and willfully failing to pay both individual income taxes and sales taxes dating back to 2019, according to a criminal complaint filed in Clay County District Court.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue’s Criminal Investigation Division launched the case in February 2025 after records suggested Conrad was underreporting her income and fraudulently receiving public assistance.
