NORTHERN CAPE – The Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation has secured the court appearance of a 37-year-old suspect for alleged fraud and theft on Monday, 22 June 2020.
The suspect who was employed as a cashier at a well-known supermarket chain in Schmidsdrift road in Kimberley, allegedly defrauded the store of an amount of R500 000.00 between March and June 2019.
The suspect is alleged to have unlawfully and falsely returned voided goods on various occasions. All the returns were authorized by the suspect’s supervisor under the impression that they were due whereas there was no customer(s) who returned those goods.
Suspect is expected to appear at Kimberley Magistrates’ Court on 17 July 2020.
