ARMOUR, S.D. — A Sioux Falls attorney accused of defrauding a Corsica-area farm family out of approximately $15,000 has entered a no contest plea to felony theft and a misdemeanor misconduct charge.
Michael Henderson, 53, entered the nolo contendere plea at the end of January — meaning he does not admit guilt but accepts conviction and sentencing as if he had pleaded guilty — to one count of grand theft, a Class 4 felony, and one count of misconduct by an attorney. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 12 in Douglas County.

The criminal complaint alleges that between October 2019 and February 2025, Henderson committed grand theft by deception with the intent to defraud Keith Vanden Hoek in the amount of approximately $15,000.
