Another scam is affecting people in the islands through email.
The scammer sends an email, claiming to be a bailiff of the Hawaii State Judiciary. He instructs the individual to vacate the premises and to click on a link for more information. When the individual clicks on the link, the computer reportedly crashes.
The Hawaii State Judiciary advises people to avoid clicking on the link or responding to these email scams. Judiciary officials say they do not contact the public through email for official business. They also do not summon people to court electronically.
If you receive an email you are not sure about, please contact the Hawaii State Judiciary Public Affairs Office at pao@courts.hawaii.gov or call (808) 539-4909.
