MPUMALANGA – Warrant Officer Nonhlanhla Mdluli of Middelburg SAPS, continues to intensify the community awareness campaigns aimed at promoting safer communities through the local radio station.
This radio awareness programs form part as SAPS ongoing commitment to crime prevention and strengthening partnerships between SAPS and the public. The initiatives come after the station is encountered a lot of fraud cases reported lately, also other crimes that affect the area.
During the interactive session with KOSMOS Radio Station, the community was educated about the dangers of providing personal information to strange callers claims to be from the bank. Refrain from buying things advertised on social media. They were advised to buy from a legit and registered shop.
The community was encouraged to remain vigilant and committed in fighting crime through working together with Community Policing Forums and other stakeholders to create a safe community.
The community was also encouraged to download the MySAPSApp and rate the service of SAPS. They were also told that crime can be reported anonymously also to report criminal activities by contacting the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or by using MySAPSApp.
