PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office of Rhode Island announced that a Central Falls woman was sentenced in federal court on Thursday for using a stolen identity for nearly two decades.
Marilyn Vazquez, 57, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. to two years probation and $54,713.98 in restitution.
According to the U.S attorney’s office, Vazquez had previously pleaded guilty to false representation of a Social Security number, healthcare fraud, and wire fraud.
The office’s release said that Vazquez used a family members identity to get a Rhode Island driver’s license during the mid-2000s, used the identity for employment, and also received public benefits.
