GAUTENG – Yu-Lin Chou (44) has appeared in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday, 09 July 2026 on charges of fraud where his case was postponed to Thursday, 16 July 2026 for a formal bail application.
It is alleged that while he was employed as a Managing Director at an investment company, Chou’s duties included managing tenant relations and finalizing lease agreements.
Chou allegedly altered the company’s official lease agreements and replacing the company’s bank details with his personal bank details. The tenants unknowingly deposited their rental money and security deposits directly into his bank account, resulting in an actual financial loss of R 4 769 650,47 to the company.
