Fishing isnt’ always phishing
Phishing means more than just sticking a pole with some bait in the water at Lake Logan. It’s a technique used by scam artists, and Internet users should be aware in order to to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

LOGAN — Fishing used to mean taking a pole with some bait to the lake with the hope of getting a big catch to tell everyone about. Today when someone says they got phished, it doesn’t mean they went to the lake. Phishing now means taking someone to the cleaners online if they are not careful.
Phishing is a type of scam where the scammers disguise themselves as a trustworthy source in an attempt to obtain private information such as passwords, credit card information, name and addresses via the Internet.
