I recently received an email with this subject line: Nedbank Payment Notification:SKY LAB has paid R66,000.00 into Standard Bank Acc…027849570 on 2016-08-13 @ 10:50,Ref:SHAUN/NEDBANK20160813.Helpline+27860444000 and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. I, Willem, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent email message from “shaun dibben”:
My trailer was advertised on OLX and Shaun contacted me the Friday, 12 August 2016, to confirm the purchase and the eft was done the following day, 13 August 2016, and the confirmation was sent to me as above. The selling price is R55000.00 but he made payment of R66000.00, as above. He even sent me a copy of his ID and proof of residence.
