BRIDGEPORT — A Naugatuck woman pleaded guilty to bank fraud Tuesday for depositing fraudulent checks at a bank, including some that were stolen from the mail, according to federal officials.
Gianna Parente, 23, now faces up to 30 years in prison, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan and Acting Inspector of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service J. Buck Buckley said in a joint statement.
Parente waived her right to be indicted and entered the plea during a hearing in Bridgeport federal court, officials said. She was released on a $25,000 bond pending a sentencing hearing that has not yet been scheduled.
