Hoffman survived nine gunshot wounds and his wife, Yvette, survived eight gunshots. Their daughter Hope heroically called 911 in the midst of the traumatic attack and told police the suspect was dressed like a police officer. That information likely saved other lives that same night.
Sadly, the same gunman shot and killed House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark in their Brooklyn Park home.
