LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer accused of taking part in a credit card fraud scheme appeared before a judge on Thursday alongside his pregnant wife.
Antonio Chavez and Claudia Guzman-Marquez are accused of theft and are facing counts of burglary of a business and perjury. Both waived their right to a preliminary hearing.
Chavez has been with Metro since 2020 and was assigned to the Community Safety Division in the Northwest Area Command.
He has been suspended without pay pending further investigation.
The two are due back in court later this month.
Be skeptical of “Work from Home” offers that require you to receive money into your personal account and transfer it elsewhere, as this makes you a “Money Mule” in a money-laundering operation.
