The next election may be a ways off, but the Legislature is thinking about it and your attention is needed.
The number of acceptable IDs you can present in 2014 will be reduced to only a few. If you don’t have the right ID and have to sign an affidavit to obtain your ballot, election workers will also have to take a color photo of you and file it with your affidavit. We need to change that.
Color photographs are just plain nuts to me, especially when there are already penalties for voter fraud that include jail time and fines. There is no evidence of voter fraud in New Hampshire, according to reports issued by the attorney general since 2006. Please tell your legislator to support HB 595 to repeal these intrusive, unnecessary provisions that don’t do anything but cost our state and our local election officials time and money and aggravation. They are already over-burdened. Please help stop this foolishness.
