COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Franklin County family nearly lost a vacant property to title fraud after someone tried to sell it without their knowledge.
Title fraud involves someone trying to illegally transfer ownership of a property. County officials said cases are becoming more common and can take years to resolve once a fraudulent transfer goes through.
