GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (WNYT) – A Gloversville man has been arrested after police say he used a false address to collect welfare benefits.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Jose Alonzo-Rodriguez received welfare benefits from New York City despite living in Fulton County. Police say Alonzo-Rodriguez collected $4,652 in SNAP benefits he was not entitled to.
Alonzo-Rodriguez is charged with two counts of offer a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, and grand larceny.

He was processed and released on an appearance ticket to Johnstown City Court.
