He asked for her email address and told her to set up a Yahoo chat line where they could meet every day. In one of his messages, he said he was retiring in a few months and wanted to come to Toronto to meet her. The following day, he told her he’d received bad news from his commander — he’d have to stay for an additional 11 months. He was still prepared to quit, but he would need money for his airfare to Toronto. He told her to send it to a bank account whose number he gave her.
