KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A former ICU nurse in East Tennessee has been charged with prescription drug fraud, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
In July 2025, TBI agents began investigating after receiving allegations against Joseph Juszak.
TBI said during the investigation, agents found that in September 2024, Juszak fraudulently obtained a controlled substance from a patient’s room while working in the ICU at Holston Valley medical Center.
Last week, a Sullivan County grand jury indicted Juszak with one count of prescription drug fraud. TBI said Juszak turned himself in on March 27 and was booked into the Sullivan County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
