WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTTC) – President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday making good a promise he made during his State of the Union address in February.
According to the White House, the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud will advise the president and coordinate government-wide efforts to combat widespread fraud, waste, and abuse in federal benefit programs.
The Trump administration said it plans to target programs tied to housing, food, medical care, and cash assistance that have funding distributed by state and local partners.
The goal, according to the White House, is to boost eligibility verification requirements and pre-payment controls.
