EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A Louisville man was arrested in Evansville on Saturday after police say he fraudulently used a victim’s credit cards to purchase multiple gift cards.
On Saturday afternoon, police responded to the east side Walmart to investigate a suspicious situation.
At the store, loss prevention officials told officers that a man, later identified as 61-year-old Christopher Kitrell, had attempted to use multiple bank cards to purchase gift cards.
Kitrell reportedly left the store after successfully buying one $400 gift card using a Bank of America card, which authorities discovered belonged to a woman.
Near the scene, police found a wallet that had been thrown away in a trash can. They say the wallet contained insurance cards and a driver’s license belonging to the victim.
