A report into the dangers of ‘sexting’ – sending sexual content via text message or social media – has revealed almost a quarter of youngsters who shared images of themselves have had those pictures passed on without their permission.
National anti-bullying charity Ditch the Label found that almost 40 per cent of people aged between 13 to 25 had shared naked photographs of themselves, with the rise of social media part of the problem.
The report suggested many teens now considered this behaviour as normal – but sharing such intimate information carries significant dangers.
