OKLAHOMA CITY –
A jury has found former restaurant owner Brent Swadley guilty in his criminal fraud trial against the state.
On Thursday, the jury unanimously found Swadley guilty of creating fake invoices and overbilling the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department.
The jury began deliberations just after 1 p.m. on Thursday and came to a conclusion around 3 p.m.
Swadley’s sentencing is set for July 16.
Trial wraps sooner than expected
The criminal trial was originally expected to take three weeks, but a verdict was reached in less than 2 weeks.
The state rested its case on Wednesday after testimony from all of its witnesses.
