Law360, New York (January 12, 2015, 5:22 PM ET) — Email scammers have been using the names of law giants — such as Reed Smith LLP and Baker McKenzie LLP — to send phishing emails containing links to malware.
The emails were sent in bulk on Jan. 8, according to a report in Pinhawk Law Technology Daily Digest, which was cited in a Crain’s Chicago Business article. The targeted firms also included Skadden Arps Slate Meagher Flom LLP, Hogan Lovells and Sidley Austin LLP, according to the article.
