The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has hailed the work of the Anti-Corruption Team which arrested a suspect on Saturday the 31 August 2019, at the OR Tambo International Airport, after fleeing the country in July 2019.
The 36-year-old man was linked to the syndicate case of the illegal registration of vehicles and imports which involved members of the SAPS who were subsequently arrested at the time. The suspect whose name cannot be disclosed before his court appearance, entered the OR Tambo International Airport from Cameroon and was immediately arrested as he was red noticed.
He is expected to appear in Komga Magistrate Court on fraud and corruption charges today, 02 September 2019. The suspect is currently in police custody.
