EASTERN CAPE – Phumezo Mashalaba (37) briefly appeared in the Umtata Magistrates court following her arrest by the Serious Commercial Crime Investigation of Hawks yesterday, 17 February 2021 for alleged fraud.
It is alleged that Phumeza Mashalaba colluded with Thembakazi Mashalaba (49) , a relative to sell the family land to the value of R350 000-00 at Ncambedlana Area in UMtata without the consent of other family members.
The first accused Thembakazi Mashalaba was arrested on 25 January 2021 and is out on bail. The matter was postponed in court for 26 February 2021 for further investigation. The second accused, Phumeza Mashalaba will also appear on the 26 February 2021 after being released on a warning.
