I, Alan, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent email message from “Ron Banks”:
This is the umpteenth time that I have received such an email so I decided to see if I could find out a bit more about the email sender being used to distribute these mails – commissionmail.com.
Going to the commissionmail.com web site one is presented with a login in form and nothing else – a warning sign.
The get-free-stuff-here.com web site registration details hide behind WhoisGuard protection so one cannot see who owns the site – another warning sign.
There is a Registrar Abuse Contact Email: abuse@enom.com who will be receiving a copy of the phishing mail from me.
scamadviser.com reports the owner details as follows, though:
Owner: RICHELO KILLIAN
Owner Address: 48 FAIRWAY DRIVE
Owner City: LANGEBAAN
Owner Postcode: 7357
Owner Country : south Africa
Domain Age: 270 Days
Website Speed: Slowscamadviser.com go on to say; “Free email addresses have been used in the setup of this website. This is not necesarily worrying, depending on the site. For online shops, this can be a sign that the site has some risk.
The website has been newly registered with a short life expectancy, which follows the pattern used by many fraudulent and fake selling websites. Please be vigilant and take extra care before providing any payment information.”
