National director of public prosecutions Shaun Abrahams will have to explain to Parliament his decision to charge and later drop fraud charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
Abrahams will appear before Parliament’s portfolio committee on justice and correctional services to which the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) accounts tomorrow morning.
The committee has called for an urgent briefing by the NPA boss, specifically on the withdrawal of charges against Gordhan.
“We believe that it would be appropriate for us to receive a briefing on this matter as soon as possible,” said committee chairperson Mathole Motshekga (ANC)….
