WASHINGTON (7News) — Six current and former Metropolitan Police Department employees now face fraud charges after prosecutors said they bilked taxpayers out of more than $440,000 in overtime pay.
A judge signed arrest warrants on Tuesday for Former Lieutenant Peter Sheldon, Former Sergeant Frantz Fulcher, Officer Thomas Krmenec, Former Senior Police Officer Bernadette Richardson, Officer Dorrie Smith-Cleere, and a civilian, Johnnie Dyer.
As of Tuesday afternoon, three of the six were in custody, a source told 7News: Officer Smith-Cleere, Officer Krmenec and Former Senior Police Officer Richardson.
