Email Fraud Alert received from: Larry
I recently received an email with this subject line: You have Seven Pending incoming mails! and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
The full contents of the suspected fraudulent (phishing / scamming) e-mail appear below:
Dear User,
We have put in place new security measures by sending an email to notify you of the browsers that login into your account. During the process of this upgrade to our server, we place your seven incoming mails on pending status.
For you to receive the seven messages that is in the process of coming in, please Click here to login and wait for a customer service team to contact you by releasing the messages.
We apologize or this inconveniences we have caused you, this is to server you better.

I, Larry, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent email message from “Gmail.com “:
This is the second time that I have received such an email – both times my email adress appeared as a BCC and this email address – aetsmith@gmail.com – was in the To field.
Both times it evaded Gmail’s spam filters and was delivered straight to my Inbox folder.
