The Hawks conducted an intelligence-driven operation which was aimed at dismantling fraud and corrupt activities at traffic stations and driving schools within the province..

The suspects would allegedly supply learners with answers before they could sit for examinations. Invigilators would also play a part by turning a blind eye on learners who would be doing copy and paste openly.

Applicants would also get a driver’s license without being tested, as they paid the amount of R7 500.00 to the driving school.

Nine suspects were released on R1000.00 bail each after they appeared before Delareyville Magistrate Court on 22 March 2017, and will appear again on 05 April 2017 for decision.

Tsotetsi and Tshabalala were also released on R1000.00 bail each by Sannieshof Magistrate Court on 23 March2017. Case postponed to 05 April 2017 for decision.

The Provincial Head of the Hawks – Major General Mbana said Hawks will not rest until fraud and corruption is uprooted. Uprooting these type of crime will in turn reduce accidents and death of innocent people on the roads.
