Email Fraud Alert received from: Caleb
I recently received an email with this subject line: Request for Quotation on behalf of Department of Energy and I am concerned that it could be an attempt at defrauding me. Let me know in the comments section what you think, please.
The full contents of the suspected fraudulent (phishing / scamming) e-mail appear below:
Dear Sir/Madam,
We hope this finds you well, we have attached a RFQ and a Declaration of interest form in this email. Please sign them and Fax or Email us a quotation as soon as possible. If the item falls outside of your scope of work but you can find a supplier, you are still welcome to quote us back under your company name.

I, Caleb, have the following thoughts/comments on this suspected fraudulent email message from “Natali Van Wyk”:
The person above “Natali Van Wyk” is claiming to be from the Department of Energy sending out fraudulent RFQ’s.
Please note that this is a tender fraud scheme that is currently making the rounds, Please be extra careful when receiving these emails.
The supplier of the Hatro Water pumps are also involved. The Company Dacoplas Traders is a fraudulent supplier part of this syndicate.
